Changing Instruction in the 1:1 Classroom

How do you leverage the power of a device in every child’s hands? This session will explore the benefits of digital learning for all children, and support teachers in their transition to a new instructional environment.

Amy Hensley and Renita Heideman will help you examine the elements of effective instruction in the context of a digital classroom, utilize the SAMR model when evaluating lessons and units, and explore resources and tools used in successful 1:1 classrooms.

Adobe Photoshop for Beginners

Photoshop is an awesome and fun program, but also a little intimidating. If you want to start using Photoshop, but didn’t know where to start, then this is the session for you!

Register and join HCESC Graphic Designer Katie Tekulve as she takes a hands-on look with you at the tools in the toolbar, at the palettes on the side of the screen and the menus. Time for a fun project and creative play included!

Special Note: All participants need to bring a device with a full version of Adobe Photoshop installed to join in the fun (Photoshop Elements is insufficient).

Get Going with Google Classroom

Are you interested in using Google Classroom with your students but still not sure where to start?

Laura Bubnick and Rob Kovacs have created a workshop designed for classroom teachers or administrators in GAFE districts who have not yet started using Google Classroom or who have started, but then didn’t get too far.

To make the most of this experience, participants need to bring their own laptops and must have a Google Drive and Google Classroom account through their school district. If time permits, we will also cover some additional Google Drive integration items.
